Notifications of entrusting work to a foreigner
Obligation to notify the District Labor Office about entrusting work to a foreigner — help with timely filing and documentation.
A notification of entrusting work (powiadomienie) is a free-of-charge filing regarding the commencement of work by a Ukrainian citizen or a person holding PESEL UKR status. The foreigner starts work first, and the employer notifies the District Labor Office within 7 days of the start of work via praca.gov.pl. This is the only path to work legalization for persons under temporary protection (UKR status). Ukrainian citizens with a different residence title (visa, residence card, visa-free travel) may use either the notification or the employer's declaration on entrusting work.
Validity conditions
Timely notification with correct data. Each change of employer creates an obligation to file a new notification. Notifications do not specify an end date for employment. If the office exceeds deadlines for processing the residence case, you can file a reminder for failure to act.
Important deadlines (temporary protection)
End of temporary protection: 4 March 2027 — you must submit an application for temporary residence by this date.
