From 27 April 2026 residence applications exclusively online via MOS

The digital revolution in residence legalization is here. From 27 April 2026, applications for temporary residence, permanent residence and EU long-term resident permits can be submitted only electronically — via the MOS system (Case Handling Module).

What about paper applications?

Paper applications that did not reach voivodeship offices before 27 April 2026 are not processed — regardless of the postal date. If you mailed a paper application in late April, verify its status immediately.

How does the new procedure work?

A foreigner creates a free MOS account, fills in the e-application, attaches document scans and a digital photo. The only costs are the stamp duty (depending on permit type) and PLN 100 for the residence card. In work-related procedures the system also involves the employer — an individual link for electronic signing is sent to the employer's e-mail.

What does it mean in practice?

No more queues in front of offices or last-minute registered letters. But there are new risks: errors in the e-application, problems with the employer's electronic signature or missing attachments can delay the start of proceedings.
