PLN 400 instead of 100 — higher fees for foreigner work legalization in Poland
Table of contents
What became more expensive since 1 December 2025?
Since 1 December 2025, new fee rates for documents legalizing foreigners' work have been in force (regulation of 20.11.2025, Dz.U. 2025 item 1622). The increase from PLN 100 to PLN 400 applies only to work entrustment declarations. Work permit fees have a separate schedule (legal status as of August 2026):
| Document | Fee |
|---|---|
| Work entrustment declaration | PLN 400 |
| Work permit — up to 3 months | PLN 200 |
| Work permit — over 3 months | PLN 400 |
| Work permit — posting | PLN 800 |
| Seasonal work permit | PLN 100 (unchanged) |
Fees for declarations and seasonal work permits are paid to the account of the district labour office (PUP); fees for work permits (types A-E) are paid to the account of the voivodeship office.
Who bears the cost?
The fees are the employer's burden — the law prohibits transferring work legalization costs onto the foreigner. Deducting these amounts from an employee's salary violates the law and risks penalties.
How to limit expenses?
A fourfold higher rate means formal errors cost real money. A declaration rejected for deficiencies means paying again. Verify data before submission on praca.gov.pl, choose the right document type (declaration vs permit) and plan hiring in advance.
